Perspectives: bridging research, policy, and population health
Healthy Longevity & Policy
How can we transform communities, care, and economic systems to support aging people and populations globally?
Global aging is as much an opportunity as it is a challenge. My work through the Lancet Commission and international policy dialogues reframes how we see population aging: healthy longevity is a development issue, not just a medical one. An integrative approach can extend healthspan, promote security and wellbeing, and ensure that older adults remain drivers of economic and social vitality.

Global Health & Aging
Why Africa’s aging population is a global priority.
Through The Longitudinal Study of Health and Ageing in Kenya (LOSHAK), we are uncovering how economic security, health, and resources shape aging in Kenya. This data will transform longevity and societal solutions in Kenya and globally.

Sensory Health & Cognition
Can we prevent dementia by treating vision loss?
My research shows that nearly 1 in 5 cases of dementia in the U.S. may be associated with untreated vision impairment. By prioritizing sensory health in primary care, we have a massive, underutilized opportunity to support cognitive health.
